Life Lessons to Learn from Lord Krishna
Updated: Sep 30, 2021
Lord Krishna plays a pivotal role in the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata. He is Vishnu's eighth avatar and one of Hinduism's most popular God. More than just a Hindu God, Krishna is the universe's first actual spiritual guru. He reformed the spiritual destiny of humankind by educating the world about devotion, dharma, karma, and eventually about the realities of life. Lord Shri Krishna has been a role model for individuals in every way in the past, in the present world and undoubtedly will continue to be so in the future.
In the Hindu scripture of Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna enlightens Arjuna with his wisdom during the war between the Kauravas and the Pandavas in the battle of Kurukshetra.
The life lessons mentioned by Lord Krishna are applicable in today's world and can help us in our daily lives.
#Lesson 1 The significance of Karma.
Lord Sri Krishna quotes in the Gita-
कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन |
मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि || 47 ||
Quote by Krishna in English
"Do your duty and be unconcerned about the results; don't be driven by the ultimate result, instead enjoy the journey to get there."
If you do not work in the present, you will get things out of nowhere. You must perform your duties without thinking of or anticipating the result. By saying this, it does not mean you should not be optimistic about the result. It simply means that without actions, your path is dreadful.
Bing process-orientation is better than being result-oriented. Staying in the present moment will help you concentrate on your Karma and improve your mental happiness.
#Lesson 2 Anger Control
Lord Krishna quotes-
क्रोधाद्भवति सम्मोह: सम्मोहात्स्मृतिविभ्रम: |
स्मृतिभ्रंशाद् बुद्धिनाशो बुद्धिनाशात्प्रणश्यति ||63||
Translation-
"Anger ends in the clouding of judgment, which ends up in a confusion of the recollection of memories. When the memory is bewildered, the thoughts get destroyed; and as the thoughts are destroyed, one is ruined."
Anger impacts your functionality of judgment; in flip reminiscence and intellect. Without intellect, choice-making gets affected. Therefore, anger is the essential motive of all forms of disasters in one's life. It is one of the three principal gates of hell, among greed and lust. One needs to attempt to control their anger while keeping their mind at peace.
#Lesson 3 Humbleness
Lord Krishna was the king of the glorious Dwarka and the God of all creations; he still was very humble and showed respect to every creature- whether animals, elders, or anyone else. He loved helping others, and because of this people helped him wherever he went.
Like Krishna, we must be humble in life. It is a great virtue to possess and an important personality trait. Humbleness helps you make genuine relationships with people and be modest to give people happiness selflessly.
#Lesson 4 No Job is Big or Small
It was a piece of cake for Lord Krishna to win the battle of Kurukshetra by himself. But he instead chose to guide Arjuna and drive a chariot for him. Lord Krishna believed that no job is big or small. Every job has its own dignity.
You must love your job, no matter how big or small it is. It is an integral part of your life. It makes you what you are and is your identity. To stay satisfied with life, you must respect all kinds of jobs and people associated with them.
#Lesson 5 True Friendship
Krishna and Sudama were childhood friends. Krishna came from a wealthy family, unlike Sudama. Sudama could hardly manage food for his family twice a day. One fine day, Sudama decided to visit his childhood friend, hoping for some financial support. On seeing Krishna after a long time, Sudama did not have the heart to ask him for anything. He left the palace empty-handed.
He was surprised to see a beautiful house, expensive clothes, and jewelry on returning home. Sudama did not have to tell his problems to Krishna. Being a genuine friend, Krishna knew his problems and helped him out without Sudama even saying a word.
Everyone wants to find a good friend who will help them in their bad times. We all crave a genuine connection with someone. Life is all about surrounding yourself with genuine people and being a good person.
Conclusion
There is more than one reason as to how the small teachings can make a huge difference in our lives even today. Lord Krishna might have said these thousands of years ago, but even today, these virtues make sense and, if implemented, help in living a better life.
Very nice! Keep inspiring people!👌👍
